Choose the barcode format before entering your value, then inspect the generated preview and any validation error. The example below uses twelve digits for EAN-13; the encoder supplies the final check digit. Adjust bar width, height, margin, and displayed text for the intended label, then download SVG or PNG. Test the exported image with the scanner that will read your actual labels.
A valid barcode pattern does not assign a retail product number or establish ownership of an identifier. Use a number allocated through your own product identification process when labeling goods for sale. Different formats accept different character sets and lengths, so changing formats can reject an otherwise valid value. Keep enough clear margin and contrast around the bars, particularly when placing the exported image into a larger printed layout.

Code 128 is a high-density, variable-length linear barcode format that can encode all 128 ASCII characters. It's widely used in shipping, packaging, and inventory management. It's the most versatile format and a good default choice.
EAN-13 requires exactly 12 digits — the 13th digit is a check digit calculated automatically. Use it for retail products, books (ISBN-13), and international trade items. Do not include spaces, letters, or special characters.
Yes. All barcodes generated here are free for commercial and personal use. SVG exports are vector-based and scale to any size without loss of quality — ideal for print labels and packaging.
SVG is a vector format — infinitely scalable with no quality loss, ideal for print and large displays. PNG is a raster format useful for web, email, and documents that don't support SVG. For print use, always prefer SVG.
